Boom town's were made during the gold rush and housed hotels, stories, groceries, bakeries, schools, church, and gambling houses. Boom town towns were made for gold miners in mind. Boom town merchants made the real profits from the gold rush selling products that miners needed for whatever price they wanted to sell.
Those who came to California in 1849 during the gold rush were called forty-niners. Americans made 80 percent of the forty-niners.
the production of gold reached it's peak at about 1851.
Slaves were used also used during the gold rush.
